Sending Smiles

 Hello everyone,

Flowers are so significant isn't it!! They are showered on us when we are born, on our birthdays, wedding and also when we leave this world.

I realized this, how nature has created these beautiful colorful things.. And they are prefect the way they are..

I created the flowers using the altenew perfectly perfect stamp and Copic colored them with my limited collection of copics.

I washed the background with the gray color smooshed from the Hickory smoke distress ink. And gold heat embossed the sentiments.

Craving for relaxing holidays!!

Hello my crafty friends,

Nine whole months of this year are already finished. And we still crave for a long holiday isn't it!! I am craving for a long vacation but the sea, watching the waves gush by the shores under an umbrella and sipping my favorite Pina colada.. Just thinking of it transports me to the vacation at Goa.. 😊 😊

So thinking that I've created a clean and simple card.. Have a look and let me know do you also feel like going off on a vacation..

I've c re ated this one layer card using a lot of masking technique, and all elements from the Lawn fawn On the beach 🏖 stampset which have been Copic colored and very subtle ink blending..

Cardogram

Hi everyone! This is my first time entering  for the 2020 Card Design Superstar Challenge at My Favorite Things! So, this is the Annual Card Making Challenge of everyone is talking about. It is always exciting about MFT Sketch and Coloring Challenges. But seeing this category I was overwhelmed and nervous. I decided to try something that I had never seen anywhere. I'm entering this interactive little card with a few paper engineering techniques for this Innovation Master category.

Little Inspiration. The first interactive interactive paper products I was introduced to were the pop up books, where the snow white and the seven dwarfs would pop up along with the story.

Idea  I wanted to make a little scene for the interactive card. Mommy koala is celebrating little koala's birthday with all friends invited. And most importantly they have a mice band to celebrate the occasion.

Executing the Idea. I started with the stamping my MFT critters on the 110 lb Neenah Solar White using the MFT Extreme Black hybrid Ink from the stamp sets :-

(a)  SY Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes

(b) Sweet Spring Friends

(c) SY It's Mice time to celebrate

(d) BB Strike up the Band

(f)  BB Fall Friends

 and copic colored the images.

To make the background of the scene to appear that the little critters have found the right spot to party,  I used the backgrounds stamp by Stacey Yacula Studios Perfect Spot  which is stamped on 6.25 x 4.25 inch cardstock. The two extending panels were cut from the same cardstock measuring 4.25x 4.25 inches. The scene was extended by hand drawing the landscape and adding continuity of the perfect spot.

Coloring the Background

I started with smooshing some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink by adding water and colored the blue skies, added some Broken China Distress Ink to add depth.  With the same technique I colored the grass using the Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and painted the tree using the Seedless Preserve  and Picked raspberry Distress Inks.

Let's have a coffee break

Hello everyone,

This is my first every entry for the MFT Super Star 2020. So I started card making last year but then I was such a novice to even think of participating. This year, with all the courage and arsenal of distress inks, card stock, brushes I decided to fight my fear through this challenge.

The guidelines of the Coloring Virtuoso category accepts all the coloring mediums, so I decided to play along with my distress inks and Daniel Smith watercolors. I am like those singers who try to hit the highest note in America's Got Talent which they've never performed.

Everything around here in Seattle, is badly hit by the smoke which eventually shall resume to normal. So I thought why not to create something that makes me happy (the way this city was a week back). I then created an accordion box card with layers, each layer depicting something significant; which I shall explain subsequently.

The card measures 5.5 x 4.25 inches. I  stamped all my images using the MFT extra black hybrid ink on Canson watercolor paper and let them dry. I then watercolored all my images using the Daniel Smith watercolors and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. After the images were pigmented to my satisfaction, I fussy cut them. And added highlights using the uniball white gel pen.

Stamps Used are :-

(a) BB Friends at First Sip

(b) Stacey Yacula Studio Street

(c) StaceyYacula Studio Mountains

Creating layers

I die cut four rectangles from the Kraft Cardstock using the MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle  of the size 4.25 x 5.5 inches to create frames. Starting from the inner most layer, I pasted the Colored Mountains Background stamped and colored panel (4.25x 5.5 inch) -- This is iconic Mt Rainier of Seattle, and visible from everywhere. Under the mountains is Pudget Sound, colored in blue.

The next layer has a street of colored houses in Seattle which are little old but covered with greenery, pasted on the kraft frame

Third layer is the demonstration of the star bucks coffee, world first Starbucks with its coffee to gos stamped from the BB Friends at First Sip stamp set. -- First Starbucks of the world was opened in Seattle and who does not like to kick start the day to the aroma of the freshly brewed Cafe Mocha.

And outer frame and the last year has the little girl with her pup enjoying her coffee 😊 Did you notice the clouds covering sun. Doesn't that remind you of the Seattle weather 😉; The sun was die cut in yellow card stock using the elements of MFT Stitched Circle Stax Dienamics. the clouds were die cut in white cardstock and vellum paper MFT In the clouds Dienamics to depict foggy skies.

Assembling the layers

I created the bellows by cutting two pieces of the Kraft cardstock measuring 4.25 x 3 inches, and created bellows by scoring in zig zag keeping the width of each zig 0.5 inch. At each valley of the bellow added the kraft frames.

Finally i stamped the Sentiments let's have a coffee break using the versamark clear embossing ink and  heat setting with white embossing powder. I then pasted it in between the plants and the little pup.

Happy birthday

 Hello everyone,

Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.”

This is something I read the other day and realized this time, fall, is the golden time of the year.. Although we may be losing out on fliers but this is when the nature gives us the fruits.. 😊

I couldn't keep myself away from the flowers and the pleasure of creating and coloring them is just out if this world..

I started with gold heat embossing my altenew florals on the water color paper and water coloring them using the watercolors by Craftangles.

I then fussy cut them. Time for the card base, I used a 110lb Neenah solar white, on which I washed some brown color and splattered the brown water color as well..

I arranged my 3 fussy cut flowers, 5 leaves bunch and stuck them with the 3d foam tape. Stamped my 1 Sentiments of happy birthday on the black cardstock using the hero Unicorn pigment ink and pasted on the card base with the glitter paper at the base.

Tadaa and the card is ready, with basically 9 elements I hope you like it.

Wishing you a harvest of blessings

 Hello everyone,

Fall is nature's color palette with the brightest colors before the long white winters.  Here's to another fall card.

I started with stamping the images from the MFT harvest mouse stampset on the Neenah solar white cardstock 110lb using the hero art black dye. Then colored it using the copics in the colors inspired by the MFT color challenge.

Now prepping up the scene background. I cut two 3.5 x 3.5 inch squares. One from the Neenah solar white and the other from mft striped pattern paper.

Creating the skies with the stormy sky distress Oxide and mowed lawn distress ink using the brushes. I die cut the fence in the Kraft cardstock which appears to be broken because the mice have been walking over it.

Finally i assembled all my elements as per the MFT sketch challenge, on the Neenah desert storm cardstock 110lb.

I stamped the Sentiments from the same stampset on the vellum using the versamark clear embossing ink with bright yellow embossing powder, the pumpkin color and tadaa the card is ready.

I hope you like it..

Old vintage flowers

Hello,

What do you do in a Friday night in a pandemic.. I decided to watercolor the flowers from my latest acquisition from the sss stronger together stamp set.

I just wanted to keep it simple, unsure about how it would turn out to be.. I stamped the basic sprig and the leaves in the stamp set on a watercolor panel measuring 3x 4 inch to create  a note card.

I used the milled lavender and iced spruce to stamp the flower and the leaves respectively.

And using my craftangles watercolors colored the flowers.. And then added some stormy sky distress Oxide to give that dramatic effect.

I decided to leave the Sentiments as such and let the flowers to do the talking.. Sometimes nature expresses better than the human words, isn't it...

I then stuck my panel on a 300gsm smoke gray cardstock..

I decided to send some more of these to my friends with whom I have not seen in quite some time now.. I think this shall be soothing enough.. 😊

I hope you like it too ☺️
